Big Data
The larger and more longitudinal a data set the more and better questions will be asked to prove a hypothesis; look for patterns and to find the rules that guide the data. We like to think that the questions that will be asked have not been thought of yet. Because of the easy and rapid ability to deploy, NGT will go to areas that would not normally be served. The insights that will be gained will be invaluable and lead to better and safer communities.
Security
Cameras have shown little value when it comes to deterring crime. If NGT were deployed in a shopping area and there was a crime, then it is possible to “tag” all the devices detected in the area during the time period that the crime was committed. By comparing older data, we can sort out least likely devices and track the departure of the devices and tag the automobiles that left the are after the incident. Tagged devices can be detected within 100 meters by law enforcement by using the cell phone app or a laptop in a police cruiser. This does not definitively identify anyone. We can just say that the device was there. Also, if devices are tagged at several locations, then we have an early warning system if they show up at a likely venue.
Fleet vehicle tracking
The NGT backend can locate an NGT device in real time. This is a low cost way to know where your friends or family are while the app is running on a phone. If something were to happen and contact was lost then it is a simple matter of finding the last known location. It is possible to put lost cost Android or iBeacon tags on things and those are easily detected and located by both sensors and the phone app. Instead of paying for an expensive GPS satellite system it would be a simple matter to have sensors at all the locations that a truck has to deliver its cargo. When the drivers phone gets within range of the sensors then a report can automatically go to management. It is not tracking but it is good data.
Smart Cities/Digital Twins
Models are physical, mathematical or otherwise logical models that represent a System, Event, Phenomenon or Process; Simulations are models with respect to longitudinal time and physical space and digital twins are simulations run in real time. Digital Twins are going to be the backbone of Smart Cities and they have to have current and accurate data to be useful. NGT can be an abundant source of the data that makes cities smarter. We expect to evolve into an AI platform very soon and when we do the NGT data will train the AI.
Schools
We are exploring many ways that we think that NGT can help make our schools safer. We feel that NGT can make school operation more efficient in areas such as picking up and dropping off children. NGT can be used for a two or three factor authentication process that ensures that children are leaving with the right adult. NGT can compliment existing camera systems and enhance the security of a school.
Parking
Parking garages can detect whitelisted automobiles and charges can be made automatically without ever getting a kiosk ticket or inserting a credit card. NGT records the entrance and exit of an automobile to the second. We are looking into using NGT for military installations and large commercial complexes. Vehicles can be “whitelisted” for rapid entry based upon early detection and confirmation of vehicle and passengers’ devices. These trusted vehicles would have special lanes to move through without stopping. Cameras would also record the entry of vehicles as a back up to the sensors, as well as to count personnel (devices) and audit.
Drone and Robots
Actually part of smart cities and digital twins except that we can provide a virtual rendering of the physical and electronic world that will make the operations of drones and robots safe and efficient.
Retail
In a retail store the amount of time that customers spend in certain areas and collectively in the store might correlate to sales volume. While NGT is looking at the numbers of devices moving around the store it is also enhancing the security of the store and might prove useful in loss prevention.
Building security
The Next Gen Tag (NGT) Smart City Analytics Platform can significantly enhance building security by providing real-time data on the presence and movement of electronic devices within the premises. Through the use of NGT sensors or mobile app installations, the platform passively monitors radio frequencies looking for beaconing devices. Security personnel will detect unusual activity or unauthorized access quickly. This capability will enhance the effectiveness of a guard force and with NGT’s built in rapid communication capability, guard forces can share data with police in real time.
Sports stadiums and mass events
The Next Gen Tag (NGT) Smart City Analytics Platform is a valuable tool for quickly gaining understanding of the numbers of devices in a sports stadiums and mass events through real-time data on electronic devices’ presence and movement. By deploying NGT sensors or the mobile app, event organizers and managers can watch NGT rapidly count devices by type and location as it detect those beaconing devices. This data may over time enhance the management and safety of these venues.
